Tips for using a front loading washing machine

Front-loading washing machines have gained significant popularity in recent times due to their convenience, modern design, and efficiency in water and energy usage, as well as their ability to produce cleaner laundry.
To optimize the use of front-loading washing machines and extend their lifespan, Toshiba provides the following recommendations:
1. Separate laundry before washing
It is essential to categorize clothing based on color, fabric type, and level of dirtiness. White and light-colored garments should be washed separately from dark-colored items to prevent color bleeding. Delicate fabrics such as silk and lace should be washed on a gentle cycle, while heavily soiled items may require a longer wash cycle.
2. Use appropriate detergent for front-loading machines
Front-loading washing machines require low-sudsing detergents. Therefore, it is advisable to select detergents specifically formulated for front-loading machines, typically in liquid form. Avoid using regular powdered detergents, as they can lead to residue buildup inside the drum, potentially damaging both the machine and the clothing.
3. Correctly adjust the washing load capacity
Avoid overloading the front-loading washing machine. The ideal capacity for this type of machine is approximately 70 percent of the total drum capacity. This ensures that garments have sufficient space to move freely, allowing the detergent to work effectively.
4. Select the washing program according to the type of clothing
Front-loading washing machines come equipped with various washing programs that can be selected based on the type of fabric and level of dirtiness. Choose the appropriate program to achieve the best washing results.
5. Perform regular cleaning of the washing machine
Washing machines with a front-loading system require regular cleaning to prevent the buildup of detergent residue and bacteria. It is advisable to use cleaners specifically designed for front-loading washing machines or to select a machine that includes an automatic drum cleaning feature, such as those found in Toshiba washing machines. This feature automatically performs drum cleaning at regular intervals, effectively removing dirt and residue that may accumulate on the drum of the washing machine.
